Photos from the first Racing for Cancer Race - June 23, 2009
Our Super Street Racing For Cancer "Guest of Honor"
was Joey Friend, a 22 year old from Grove City.
He is battling cancer and has lost his leg and four ribs to this disease. This
was Joey's first time
to a drag strip! Mike Fouts greeted Joey and presented him with a VIP
Pass good for the entire 2009 season.
Joey was
surprised when Joy Smith
offered to take him down the track in her Sportsman S-10 Race Truck.
And off they go.....running a 7.86 at 86mph.
Racing Limo's of Mt. Vernon was kind enough to pick
up Joey and his parents from Grove City and bring
them to the track in style! And make a pass down the eight mile too...
Joey and his family along with fellow cancer
survivors wanted to thank everyone, especially Jeg's, for all their support!
RacingForCancer.Com Super Street racers, crew &
spectators show their support and thank
Jeg's for matching the money raised for this great event.
Linn Bebout takes the win and the $1,000 purse for
his Super Street RacingForCancer.Com win.
